A new Jewish year
The Jewish New Year celebration is a holiday with some faiths from the Jewish tradition. On the September 30th, families make the holiday meal with "gefilte fish"-a stuffed fish (a carp), Hallah (A bread which eaten on the Sabbath and on holidays), and apples with honey (a symbol for a sweet year). But what does the carp is for? There is an expression, which tells that you should be to the fish's head and not to be his tail. People blow the Shofar (a bull’s horn, with a mouthpiece) to open the gates of the sky. For me, this is a very special holiday, and this is because I can meet all of my family and we meet each other.
My aunts and my grandmothers make delicious food, and everybody loves their food. Shay 6th grade
