I’m 16 years old. I live in Japan. 　My hobby is reading comic books and watching movies.　I wrote this with my dictionary. 　Please read my peace message.

    I often read newspapers and watch TV programs about war. But honestly, I don’t feel everything about war as reality because I have never experienced it.  I know what war is like by drama or special programs about war, but I think the present Japanese young people don’t know the importance of peaceful living and its worth because they never have experienced it, either.

 So I read a book about “ Kino’s trip- the Beautiful World- “. The main character is Kino. He is traveling with a motorcycle around the world. The motorcycle is able to speak.  Kino is growing up himself by traveling.

    The countries in this story are like real countries, so we can feel what war is like and how important life is.

    Kino says, “When I think I am so mean, I always feel the world and other people’s way of life are completely beautiful and wonderful.”

 　 I think his words are very important for us in the present situation.  I want much more people to think about peace and war.

　こんにちは。私の名前は横田ひかるです。

私は16歳で、日本に住んでいます。趣味は漫画を読むことと映画を見ることです。

辞書を使ってこれを書きました。私のpeace massageを読んで下さい。

私はよく戦争についての新聞を読んだり、テレビを見たりする。しかし正直言って、体験したことがないので実感が湧かない。戦争についてのドラマや特別番組で戦争がどういうものかについては分かるが、今の日本の若者は戦争を体験していないから、平和のありがたさや、その価値が分からない人がいると思う。

　そこで私は｢キノの旅 –The Beautiful World–｣を読んだ。主人公はキノ。彼は世界中を二輪車と共に旅をする。その二輪車は話すことができる。そしてキノ自身が旅をすることによって成長していく。

　キノは｢自分がすごく汚い人間だと思う時は必ず、それ以外の、例えば世界や他人の生き方が全て美しくて素敵なもののように感じる。｣、と言っている。

このことは、今の私たちにとって、とても大切なことで、たくさんの人に平和や戦争についてもっと考えてほしい。
