It is not every day that a teacher has a special day like I had with my fifth graders on Wednesday morning upon my return from Vilnius, Lithuania. The kids really wanted to celebrate my award and were so proud of this accomplishment . It nearly brought me to tears.

They all prepared an Israeli breakfast with some parents coming in before the bell so everything would be fresh and delicious and it really was. On the door Gal made a sign saying Welcome to the party. Gal, Shaked and Dor made beautiful signs too. Some of the kids made their own arts and crafts in honor of the event. A group of kids even sang and wrote a short poem.

We all have our moments as educators and we should never expect too much. This group of kids has touched my heart. It has even given me an inner strength and reminded me of how much I do love my work.

How lucky am I ! After thirty years of teaching, it is a great feeling.

Here you can see the pictures and a short movie.
