On November 10th, 2009 I was notified that I was one of the ten award winners of the elearning competition. I can not begin to express how excited I was and how unexpected it was for me to be among these fantastic educators from Europe.

Organised annually and supported by key industry partners, the eLearning Awards competition is a regular part of the European Schoolnet conference, EMINENT. This year, EMINENT took place in the Lithuanian Parliament in Vilnius. The competition invites schools and teacher training institutions worldwide to present projects using technology in education. In its ninth year, the prize features ten categories, including a new one specially conceived for highlighting international cooperation, and opened to participants beyond Europe.

I travelled to Vilnius, Lithuania through Vienna, Austria. I arrived at the Scandic Hotel and met the other winners. We had a great time together and shared our success. It was so well organized, we are all grateful to the European Schoolnet for giving us this wonderful opportunity.

Memories remain and I am still smiling. It is a great feeling for me that Globaldreamers peace project was chosen for international global collaboratiion beyond Europe. The importance of bringing people together by the help of the Internet was only reinforced by my personal and educational belief in making a better world.

You can enjoy pictures from the workshops, the gala dinner and the award ceremony here.
