A buoyant new member of the EU, Lithuania continues to be one of the fastest developing countries of the former Soviet bloc. Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, was at the forefront of the push for democracy, and independence finally came in 1991. The city is truly lovely and clean as can seen in the pictures from our conference. We were guests of the parliament and it was very interesting. Vilnius is now celebrating a 1000 years for their millenium and are proud of their city and culture as they well should be.
