Letters from Saint Patrick School for New Year 2006
Dear Gal,
First I want to wish you a Happy New Year. For our New Year, we celebrate by going
to First Night Carlisle that is a festival or carnival type thing. There is a lot of fun things to do
there. Can you tell me what fish
head tastes like? I just wanted to
know because I love fish.

Hello Benjamin,
My name is Vinny.
I didn’t know it was Rosh Hashanah until a few days ago. In fact, I didn’t even know what it
was. The New Year in American is
the first day of January. Also, we
don’t eat fish head. Most of the
time, we would have a turkey or a ham for the New Year.
Dear Friend,
What do you like the best about Rosh Hashanah? The apples with honey sound good to
eat. How do you cook the
fish? Do you fry it or broil
it? What other holidays do you
celebrate there? My favorite is
Christmas. Do you do good deed on
Rosh Hashanah? Have a great New
Year!
Your friend, Tiffany
Dear Ayelet,
Hi, Happy Rosh Hashanah! For New Year, my family and friends go to this place that
plays loud music and has lots of fun games. My family usually eats chocolate cake. It is interesting what you said that you
ate. How does a fish head
taste? How do you make it? I think that’s neat. I hope you have a great time in
Switzerland.
From your friend, Johana
Dear Jania,
Hi, my name is Marissa. I think that it is very cool that you have a different New
Year than us. I would like to know
more about Rosh Hashanah. I hope
you have a great New Year.
Sincerely, Marissa
Dear Yaara,
Hi, I’m Hannah.
I am 11 years old. Happy
Rosh Hashanah! It must be very
exciting for you and your family to prepare for such a special holiday. The food sounds good. For our New Year, we always go to the
town square and walk around listening to music and eating food until the
fireworks start.
Again Happy Rosh Hashanah!
Your friend, Hannah
Dear Eden,
