Dear Educators and friends,

So much has happened this year that it is really hard for me to put it into words. We are now ending another wonderful year of Globaldreamers and evidence of this tremendous year is all over the site and I thank you all warmly.

We wish to go on dreaming with you all always!! Special thanks to everyone in the project for the wonderful contributions to the site and I am so glad so many teachers have been writing to say how useful the share materials are and how much kids enjoy them.

On July 2nd, 2006, my birthday I will be leaving for my trip to San Diego, California for the GSN award at the NECC conference. I am thrilled and excited and will be thinking of all of you on July 5th upon receiving this award in a spotlight session organized by the Globalschool net.

Janet and I will be meeting for the first time and Nicki and I will be meeting at Driggs School in Waterbury, Connecticut. I will also be visiting Oak Park School with Janet. We are both thrilled and excited and she will be part of the audience cheering on my behalf along with Karen Eini of Friends and flags, both special friends and former champions! Last but not least my Moshe my best friend and fan, (my husband will be there ) cheering with all of them on your behalf.

I will be gone a month as I will also be visiting friends and family.

January 14, 2006

Dear educators and friends,
First of all special thanks for all the wonderful notes of congratulations about being the Innovative teacher for Microsoft Israel and yes I am so excited. From what I know the conference will be in Philadelphia, Penn. in November.

Martin Luther King Day is a holiday that is being commemorated in the U.S. and I started a discussion about King, non-violence, and his dream for peace and equality. I also invite everyone to write about Great leaders of our time. It is up and special thanks to Brian for suggesting the topic

The first International Remembrance Day for the Holocaust was declared at the United Nations by President Bush. I have been busy making materials and with the help of Janet and Noreen the unit is special. It is not completely finished and we are still adding materials that will be on line and also worksheets for your convenience to download and use with the kids.If anyone has anything to contribute I will add to the unit. If anyone has a story to add, we will do that gladly too. Also, teachers who are planning on participating please write me and we will add you to our participants list. Since it is actually on January 27th I wanted to inform you so you may take advantage of the unit which I have dedicated to my Mom, God rest her soul. Israel will also be commemorating the National Holocaust Day which is by law the major day for remembering the Holocaust.

See: http://www.globaldreamers.org/holocaust/active/index.html
Also if there are teachers who want to participate from various schools they are also invited to do so.

I wish everyone a wonderful 2006 full of love, hopes and many globaldreams.
Marsha Goren

January 12, 2006

To all the Globaldreamers and friends!!!
I have some wonderful and exciting news! I was chosen by Micorosoft Israel as an innovative teacher!! This exciting news came yesterday in Micorosoft Raanana, Israel where I have been participating in a workshop for a year and half now. Three teachers were given the award by the ministry of education in cooperation with Microsoft. I will be representing Israel in a workshop in Microsoft USA in November!! I am so thrilled and excited I can not begin to express my happiness

I have all of my friends and children around the world to thank for this honor.

See:
http://www.globaldreamers.org/awards/microsoftIsrael.html

We are still writing about our Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and praying for his recovery. I thank everyone for leaving messages. I will be adding a message in memory of Martin Luther King and leaders who fought against violence.

Please join us.
Best wishes and keep in touch,
Marsha Goren

January 5, 2006

Shalom dear Friends,
We are all very upset and praying that our Prime Minister Ariel Sharon will survive and win the last battle of his life. Sadly,it does not look good.

Just recently the kids and I wrote about him. We are building a site for the GVC competition with my special friend Janet and a class from India. Our site which will tell about special people and heroes features Ariel Sharon who was chosen by my 6th graders.

I can not begin to tell you how hard it is to watch the news and see the sadness everywhere. He has done so much for Israel and taken brave actions for fulfilling peace. He will not be forgotten by his country.

May God bless you , your classes and schools for being our globaldreamers in good and bad times.

I have started a topic on the discussion board asking everyone to pray for our fine prime minister Ariel Sharon, a man with a vision and a hope for peace for the future of all mankind.

Sincerely,
Marsha Goren and Ein Ganim School
