What we have learned through our unit
"We can not always
build the future for our youth but we can build our youth
for the future."
Franklin

What it was like learning about Petach Tikva with our parents and friends in class.
My name is Ohad and the discoveries I discovered when we
built the website was that Petach Tikva was full of fields and groves.
I learned a lot from Itay about Paint Shop Pro when I did a banner with
him on Paint Shop Pro. From my parents I learned that the children in
the past played a lot outside the house and they didn't play on the
computer or watched TV all the day.
My name is Yarden. I am very happy because the project was fun but very hard too. I learned many things like: what my father liked to do when he was young and many exiting people.
We are very happy the web is finished. Everyone contributed
something for the web: a picture, a story or banner and we made it look
nicer than it was before.
My name is Nir. I learn about many discoveries like Barak's
father, I didn't know that he's working in the subject of space. I
had fun to learn about the old colony without TV and computers and there
was no fridge! I learned about new programs like html and animation shop.
Petach Tikva is a wonderful city!
My name is Roi, I like to learn about to past of Petach Tiqva
and other cities in Israel. I like to write on the website the things
that I think about my country and my city. It was very important
to me.
My name is Eden, I learned about Petach Tikva and its history. I
learned better English and I discovered that if everyone works hard to
make their dreams come true, they will. I liked to write in the
website and answer questions there. I was surprised when I found
that my interview with my uncle was on the website.
I was surprised to know that my father could play
a dangerous game while he was growing up as a child. I am also surprised
to know what my father thinks about the future of RoshHa'ain. (Alon)
I
was surprised that we can connect with kids around the world. I
was surprised when I learned English with the computer. It's very special. I
learned to write faster and I learned a lot about kids around the world. In
our project about the city I learned a lot on my city and the people in
my city. (Denis)
I was very surprised about the very hard work that we did. Petach
Tikva is a very beautiful place and every morning when I get up I so happy
that I live here and no other place. I learned a lot from this project
about my city, Petach Tikva. There are people that think they can
not succeed and they just give up, but we together have proved that with
hard work our class can succeed in building this wonderful unit. (Barak)
I was surprised about all the artists in Petach Tikva. I was surprised learning from the past of Petach Tikva. I live in Petach Tikva all my life and I didn't know many things. I like Petach Tikva and I am happy to know more about the city my family and I live in. (Nitzan)
I made a banner with pictures of the children and stars. (Itay)
I
n our project about the city I've learned a lot about the city. We made the site for learning and fun and it is was enjoyble to make the site. We all needed to take part in the hard work. We had to make interviews with all kinds of special people and search for interesting things to write about in the site. I didn't know about the developments in all kinds of areas in the city in the last few years. It was fun to learn about the sports and the new robots that help in all kinds of subjects like medicine and science. I was surprised that Petach Tikva was a little city where all her people rode on horses and lived in little houses and did physical work.
On the web I didn't know that there were so many sites to learn about the city from and about the people in the city. We made things like paintings about subjects like art and sports and I made a logo for the site that was put in the old city in front of the new city and makes a comparison between the two, about the new and old and the upgrading that the city has gone through. It is a beautiful site that shows you that if you want to achieve something you need to work hard. Marsha told us that we need to believe in something that we want and keep trying no matter if people say that you are wrong and that you can't make a difference. That is what I have learned because the little people make the big difference in the city from the old little Petach Tikva to the big beautiful city that is standing now.

In the project I learned a lot about Petach-Tikva. I learn
what was here 50 years ago, about the people, the places and more interesting
things. My surprises are how many things there are to learn about
Petach-Tikva. I like to learn with my friends in the class and
to know more things about the past. I like to work with my father
and listen to his stories from the past.
Talia
Naama: I learned a lot about Petach Tikva, my city. In this project I learned about her past and about people's opinion about the future.
I had very good time to work with other people because of this
project. I worked with my parents, and I learned about their past in
our city, Petach-Tikva. I worked with friends and I drew with them,
and it was really fun. In this project everyone did something to make
it better, and we all worked together.
Chen:I was very surprised when I saw that we can make a web site in a short time. I am very happy to be a a part of this project.
Ofer: In this project I learned a lot of things. After this project
I learned how to write in English much quicker, I learned things about
my father, and
with my friends help I learned how to use the 'html'.
Sapir: In the lessons Marsha teaches us what to do now and
I think that we are doing a very good job. We have improved our English
and computer skills because we learn English as a second language and
this project has helped us a lot in both technology and English.
Our parents
did a lot, we interviewed them and they gave a hand
to all of the children with their knowledge and care. It was a good
way to involve our families and the people we interviewed from Petach
Tikva were very impressed with our work.
