Ein Ganim's Past

The ones who founded Ein-Ganim were the following people:Menachem Bogershob,Zeev Carmely,Arie Paslov,Yoshua Antin,Yakov Pinhasi,Itzhak Andin,Zilik Meirov,Simha Sikvitz, Shlomo Even-tov,Avram Zonberg,Itzhak Kabshana, Yehezkel Bet Alahmi, Itzhak Riskin,Glinik.

Other people joined them later, they were: Israel Shapira,Pinhas Spektor,Yoshua Alterman, Avraam Tzodkov, Aavid Burnstain, Aliahu Dayan,Shapira,D.Phohs,Gad Liv Rachuv, Ben Aliahu.

Ein-Ganim is the first workers settlement in Israel, the settlement was founded in 1908 on the Succut holiday by buying 522 plots from the Arab village Faja. A group named the young workers bought the plots, they worked in the orchards that belonged to the farmers of Petach Tikva. The grounds of the settlement were divided among 31 of its members.

The rules of the settlement were:

1: A new member of the settlement was received by the decision of the general assembly.

2: Every member had to work.

3: The members of the settlement would speak Hebrew.

4: Every member in the settlement would have only one piece of ground.

The public buildings were: the nation house(Beit Haam)- with one class at a school and a kindergarten. The packing house- the Ein Ganim school is now located where the packing house used to be.

1. The nation house

2. Psilov hut

3. Meirov house

4. The guard point.

Important dates:

1908: The founding of the Ein-Ganim settlement.

1937: Petach-Tikva became a city and Ein-Ganim was a close neighbor of the city.

1940: Ein-Ganim became part of the city of Petach-Tikva .

1946: A road was paved in Ein-Ganim.

1950: A memorial building and the planting of trees for those who were from Ein-Ganim and died in the war.
