I interviewed my uncle Sassy who works in the city council.
He works in the sports department. He has always been very involved in
sports. He was the most spectacular runner in the whole school; he was
a soccer player and a basketball player.
Q. Uncle Sassy, when you were a child did you like to play any kind of sports? And if you did what kind of sports?
A. When I was a child I was interested in soccer but when I grew I started to play basketball.
Q. When
you were a child did you have any competition and were you competitive?
A. I had plenty of competitions. I had contests between classes and between schools. I was very competitive.
Q. How many children want to learn sports in Petach Tikva and how much do study?
A. Children participate from the entire city. There are
about 2,000 children who want to learn sports and 1,500 that already
study.
Q. How many classes of sports are in Petach Tikva and how many do you think will open in the future?
A. There are 35 classes of sports. In the future we want
to open another 10 classes.
Q. Which type of sports do people prefer the most?
A. People prefer to learn these sports: soccer, basketball
and judo.
Q. What are you going to do about creating more champions in the future?
A. We're going support the most talented pupils in the classes to create champions.
Q. How can the sports department in our city improve and serve the people in a more efficient way?
A. If the budget grows, we will have more trainers and
equipment for the people.
Q. Is there a budget for this process?
A. There is a budget but it's not large enough. I hope
sportsman and woman will lead Petach Tikva to the Olympics and bring
us a lot of pride.
