One place the needs our attention today is Darfur. There is an ongoing conflict with 200,000 to 400,000 dead and 2.5 million displaced. Their government suppresses information by arresting and killing witnesses, arresting journalists, and they tamper with grave sites to destroy forensic value. They have been good at keeping other people out of their “ business”.
Another place is North Korea. North Korea is under dictatorship by Kim Jong Il. They are known to have the worst human rights. They have torture, starvation, rape, murder, medical experimentation, forced labor, and forced abortions. They also have one of the world's largest armies, coming in fourth place; they have 1.21 million armed personnel, which could be a threat to the U.S. They also stated that they can produce up to six or seven nuclear weapons. I think that dictators should not even exist in the 21st century.
