This Train Revised

"This Train Revised" is a song by the Indigo Girls. It's about how Hitler and the Nazis treated not just Jews, but other people that they didn't like. It's a really sad song yet it teaches you a lot.

The song "This Train Revised, has a lot of symbolic meanings in it that give you clues about stuff that went on during the Holocaust. For instance, when they say "David's Stars," they they're referring to the Jews. Then they sing something like "Am I not part of the human race?" Then it says something like "Fish white bellies." To me, I think they sang that to inform us of the dead people. Also they have phrases such as "Healer without hands" and "dancers with no legs." This symbolizes how the Nazis crushed their dreams. They could have been great scientists who found a cure for cancer, but they had no chance to accomplish it and to show the world. If Hitler wouldn't have done what he did to all those people, maybe we could have a cure for cancer. It's sad because we could have more today. The whole world, including Nazis, could have more today if 6 million Jews had not been killed. We would have more art, music, buildings and creations, because they didn't like them.

This is how I feel and what I learned from the song, "This Train Revised."

It is sad but true. We all should know what went on.
