This Train Revised

The title of the song is "This Train Revised". Revised means change. The song title could mean how the Jews could have changed before the train, and how the train may have changed them. Many things changed, their personalities changed, their appearance, and most importantly their lives. The train was a cramped one. There were about twenty people to one cart. Even worse there was no bathroom. There were not even first-aid kits. Imagine how disgusting they felt. If they had to use the bathroom, they did it on themselves. If they got cuts and started to bleed, the blood was left untouched. They also must have felt sad. They were forced from their homes. They were forced to watch the people die.

There is a verse that says "stacked like wood". To me it means that when the Jews died in the train, the Germans would get the dead ad pile them like a stack of wood outside the train. It held the bodies of brothers, grandparents, mothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, friends, and loved ones. All of these people treated like nothing more than a piece of wood. Can you imagine how that felt?

The Jews must have been sad also because their jobs were taken from them. Their hopes and dreams crushed. They could have been successful doctors that cured a disease. They could have been the world's greatest artist, or could have been a teacher that taught the greatest mathematician or author. We could have so many other Jews, but we don't because they were removed. They were tortured because they were thought of as low species. As you can see, "This Trained Revised" tells about how horrible and sad this train ride was. How their lives were changed!
