There are lots of holocaust stories with the Nazis. I heard one when I was in Bedzine, near Katowice, in Poland last December. In Bedzin, there is the Zamek Castle, which is from 11th century.

When I was going to the castle to take some photos, I saw a monument.

The monument is for the Jewish people who lost their lives during the World War II.

There was a synaegogue once at the place of the monument. When the Jews were praying inside the synaegogue, the Nazis closed the doors tightly and set it on fire. But the Germans didn't know that there was a tunnel under the ground from the synaegogue to the nearby church.

The priests at the church helped the Jews and all of them survived. Unfortunately, most Jewish people were killed as soon as the Nazis arrived in Bedzin. Some of them were taken from Bedzin to Auschwitz and were killed there.

It's so sad.

When the peace came to Poland, the Polish who helped the Jews were awarded. Their rewards are on display on the walls of the Zamek Castle.
