There are many events in the history of mankind which tragedy and pain will stay in the memory forever. And the World War II is one of the most terrible events in the history. It began when Hitler invaded Poland and ended six years later with the defeat of Germany. By them over 50 million people has been killed or injured. We live in Ukraine and our land was occupied by German invaders during the World War II. Fascist army occupied our region on the 6th of October in 1941. From the first days of occupation, Nazi soldiers established the regime of the terror against the civilian population. Many people were arrested and killed. In the village of Konsatntinovka there is a memorial wall to 14 hundreds of civilians. They were killed during the occupation in 1941-1943. Among them 6 thousand of Jewish people. 14 hundreds innocent lives were taken. 14hundreds of children, old men, women lie in the communal graves here. Every year we celebrate the day of Liberation of Melitopol. Itís a day to remember the people who died in the war. We usually have special lessons when our teachers tell us about the heroic struggle of our people against fascists during the war. This year we had an excursion to the places where the battles for Melitopol took place. There are many monuments to the soldiers who died in the war in our regions. But not only for the soldiers who defend our Motherland. Many victims of the war were children, old people, and women. They were killed because of their nation and their social positions. We must remember them. We must remember the cruel lessons of the war. Our memory isnít for dead, itís for leaving. If we forget our history, we are condemned to repeat it. We remember! Form 8V.
