Zvijezda d.d. is the largest producer od edible oils and the only producer of margarine, vegetable fat, mayonnaise-based delicatessen products in Croatia. Besides consumer food products, Zvijezda is also involved in the production of raw materials for other food producers.

In recent years Zvijezda (Star) has launched several products with reduced fat content thus following global trends in food production.

History

Today's Zvijezda has emerged from the first Croatian oil factory, founded by the two salesman: Alfred Pick and David Alexander in 1916. The factory started with its work a year later and the first products were pumpkinseeds and sunflower oils.

During the 1920s the factory started the production of refined, edible oil which was rather unusual in Europe at that time.

From the very beginning the factory has been developing its entire production cycle -  from oilseed crushing to finished products. In 1950s oil production started to increase and the company began the construction of new plants and the reconstruction and modernization of exsisting ones which has continued since then. Since 1993 Zvijezda has been a member of the Agrokor Group.

The company's representative Ran Reches donated cosmetic items for the teachers at the DND camp as well as samples and booklets. Everyone was absolutely delighted as you can see from the happy faces below.
