Obwororo Academy - Located in Africa in the country of Kenya,
Nyanza Province, Kisumu City in small village called Ikonge in
the kisii Highlands .The school was Started in 1998 as a self
initiative project to help Fight illiteracy in Ikonge Market
and its enviroment and also give an alternative set up to public
education in primary school.
In the year 2002 the school attained regestration with the ministry
of education. This regestration gave the school authority to
offer Elementary Education upto three classes, that is Baby class,
Nursery ad pre-unit and single stream Primary education of 40
pupils per class from standard One(1) to Eight(8).
Having attained the official status, efforts
were made to provide facilities for learning, strengthen curriculum
and raise enrollment level. At the time the school records a
population of 550 pupils from baby class to class eight. The
pupils eged 3 -12. the school surport 121 orphans and children
living from less privilaged families. We have 13 teachers, 7
non-teaching staff, director and manager.
The school has various projects to provide resources and good
environment for the growth of the pupils mentally, physically
and spritual. Some of the projects are under way such as. Putting
up learning infrastructure, building of mordern classrooms and
domitories to manage the population of the pupils who are now
borders.
Presently the school has few
computers with limited internet, we love to participate in the
exchange please advice us on the same. Through this program the
children will benefit from international interaction that will
bring them to global awareness and thus growth in their education.
