Dear Judy,
How are you?
I like to travel. It is so much fun to travel in Israel. There are beautiful
views here.
I want top tell you about our travels. We like to travel in the north of Israel.
This is a map of the north of Israel:
The small lake called "Cineret". Our drink water is from this lake. This is
the "Cineret":
The big sea is the "Yam Hatihon".
We like to walk in the "Banyas" river. This is a beautiful and interesting
river. There are a lot of birds and trees there. This is the "Banyas":

We like to travel in the bigest mountian in all of the country- the "Golan".
It's a wonderful place with no noise. You cant see from there beautiful views
that you will not see ever. This is the Golan:

A lot of people go to travel in the Golan on the holidays. There are holidays
that we can't find rooms in hotels, because everybody take the rooms!
There
are a lot of cities in the north. There is a big city in the north, its name
is Haifa. There is a good soccer team in Haifa, big buildings and a big mall.
You can understand that there are a lot of malls in Israel... this is a very
popular place in Haifa, its name is "The gate of the Baha'im".
This
is the place:
This is
a picture of the center of Haifa
What is the place that you like very much?
Doy uo go to travel there a lot of times?
Do you want that I will tell you about the south of Israel?
Good-bye,
Michal G, Marsha and the 6th grade at Ein Ganim Israel
Thank you for your message and beautiful pictures
of Israel.
We are a group of 6th grade students at Stephen S.
Wise Elementary School in Los Angeles. It is a Jewish private school. The eight
of us writing to you are a group of students in a special technology program
called Generation Yes.
It is a national and even international program that
develops leaders in technology to work with teachers in our school. You can
learn about the program at its website www.genyes.org.
In 6th grade the topic
of our Jewish studies classes is ancient and modern Israel. Therefore
we are very interested in learning more about Israel by communicating
with you---and not just reading books about Israel. One of us, Tom
goes to Israel every summer to visit family and friends. Most of his
family is from Ra'anna.
We also like to spend time in shopping malls in Los Angeles. Right
now in Los Angeles area their are a lot of wildfires because of the
dry conditions.
We are all safe at our school, but have not been having
physical education classes outdoors because of the bad air quality
and ashes blowing from the fires.
In L.A. we have lots of movie theaters and many movies are made in
Hollywood which is about 20 miles from us.
Next time we write we will
send you some pictures of ourselves and our school and city. L'hitraot,
The Gen Yes club at Stephen Wise.
Teacher Judy Eber
Dear Michal and Nofar,
We are Rose and Tom. We are part of a 6th grade computer group called Generation
Did. Rose is the only girl in the group. Tom was born in China, and Rose
in California. Tomās parents are from Israel, though, and Roseās are both
from America.
We are typing this in our computer lab at our school, Stephen S. Wise Temple
Elementary School. We've attached a couple of pictures of our school.
Tom goes
to Israel a lot: every year in the summer, no matter what. Rose has never
even been to Israel. Neither have a few other people in Gen Did, and
we all thank you for your interesting pictures of historic sites in Israel.
We live in California. Have any of you seen the "Terminator"
movies? The "Terminator" is
our new governor (Arnold Schwarzenegger)! He won the recent election when
our old governor, Gray Davis, was removed from office in a recall election.
We have to get back to class now, but we'll get back to
you later. ---Rose and Tom P.S. Tom says his favorite television shows
are Reshet and Yatzpan. Do you like them?
This
"Creation" mural was made by a 6th grade class a few years ago. They
designed and painted it with their kindergarten partners.
It's in the
play area by our kindergarten and 1st grade classes. Every year the
6th grade graduating class leaves some kind of art project to the school.
This
is one of our play yards where we have physical education classes,
recess free time, and after school sports.
