Wars

Imagine that you woke up with gun shots one day and you see soldiers getting in your house and burning all of the stuff that you have. It would be the worst thing in your life because you would lose all of your savings and you would have the risk to lose your life.

People think that wars are the only possible solutions to be free and independent. They don’t think what would happen during and after a war. Wars do not make everything right. Wars are the worst things that a person can ever imagine. There are lots of bad things caused by wars. But the most important ones are people being killed during a war, decreasing in population and the economic damages after a war.

First of all, people being killed during a war. When a war breaks out, thousands of soldiers march into the battlefields. Two or more sides fight and most of the soldiers get killed. Nobody should kill another human being. This is just killing your own kind. For no reason, little kids and women get killed. Nobody should have the right to kill innocent people.

Secondly, from all these deaths, the population in the countries decreases. For example, when World War I broke out, thousands of women lost their husbands in Turkey. For a few years, the population stopped to increase, because the only people that were alive were the women, the old men and the kids.

Third of all, the economic damages of wars. Soldiers burn houses, farming areas, buildings, roads. The government has to repair these damages. To do this the government has to spend a lot of money to rebuild these areas. The government gets poor from all that spending.

So after you read or listen to my speech, I hope war supporters will change their minds. Any one can wake up with gun shots one morning.
