Bodden

Where salt and fresh waters meet in the Baltic Peninsula

We returned from the coast on Wednesday. We had a very nice time there. The weather was great. That’s why we could go to the beach daily. Never, never, never, we have seen such a crowded beach like there (see photo ). We did not stay there the whole day.

Our trip started three days earlier because it was very hot here. We found one of the last accommodations ;-) It was the last village before you enter the island Darß http://www.darss.net/english/region We reached the beach by bike. It took only 15 minutes.

On Wednesday, we went to Island Rügen. The holiday flat that we booked in October 2006 (!!!!!!!!!!!) was fantastic. It was located in Glowe (a resort that is not very popular) in front of the beach. We had an amazing view to Kap Arkona, the most northern point/tip of Germany and to the small marina.

We saw a fan of Glowe who wore a T-shirt with “Glowe-Trotter” (based on the company Globetrotter) on it. Funny. We also had a boat cruise on the Bodden (bay) to see the fireworks of the open air performance of “Störtebeker”.

On Monday, the weather was changeable, we went to Kap Arkona by bike (40 km). You can see the typical cottages in one of the photos. It was taken in a historic fishing village.
