Brington Primary School

This is our school. It is situated on the edge of the tiny village of Little Brington in Northamptonshire. We have 3 classrooms and a hall and a few other rooms as well. The school is tiny and we are always complaining about not having enough space to store everything.

This is us!! We are Class 3, the oldest children at our school.

We are aged between 8 (Year 4) and 11 (Year 6). Because there are only 68 children in the whole school, we are all taught in the same class. Mrs Masters is our teacher and some of us have already been in her class for two years.

This is inside our classroom. It is a temporary classroom, although itŐs been here for over 20 years. We have plans to build a new classroom and have spent the last few years raising enough money to build it. Hopefully, the builders will start work soon.

Brington Primary School is situated in Little Brington, a small, rural village approximately seven miles from Daventry and a similar distance from Northampton. The area the school serves is comprised of Little Brington, Great Brington, Nobottle, Whilton and Whilton Locks. We also have a number of children from Duston, Norton and Long Buckby.

The school is a Grade II listed building, which was erected in 1851. It consists of a large, attractive hall, two classrooms and the toilet block. Attached to the main building is the former School House, which has been adapted to house our Library, Music Room, Office, Staffroom, Pottery Room and Curriculum Resource Area. To the rear of the main building is our third classroom and outbuildings.

The grounds of the school are attractive and extensive for a school of this size. They consist of a tarmac playground, grass areas, an orchard and a wild-life area with a pond. In addition, the village playing field, adjacent to the playground, is maintained and used by the school.
