Israel is celebrating 60 years this year.
60 years ago, David Ben-Gurion declared about the establishing of the Jewish country, at 8th May, 1948.
A lot of people came to the streets, and they shouted and shouted because they were happy.
Some days after the declaration, the War of Independence began.

Israel is already 60 years old!!!
And what do we celebrate every year?

The Independence Day!!!!

What do I do every year on Independence Day?

• I also have a big "party" in my home.
• I buy spray and spray it on everybody.
• I look at the fireworks and scare  my brother!!!
• And we also have a HOLIDAY!!!!!!
• And I can go to my friends!!!

Israel, our little country, is already 60!
We are very happy, because Israel is still a very young state but in a few years it'll be a famous, big state.

For Israel's 60th birthday, we in Petah Tikva are doing a special project that will become a big statue as a gift for her.
In the project, every family that has a child will draw a big drawing and send it to Petah Tikva's municipality.

At the end, we will put all of the drawings on the big wall and it'll be very beautiful.
