Hello. My name is Shay. I am living in Israel and it's very cool. We all are very different but do the same stuff and behave almost the same. We are very consolidated and united like one man. Soon Israel will be 60 years old and we all are very happy about that. Israel was officially announced as a country in 1948 in the United Nations and then people were literally dancing in the street from the huge happiness that flooded them.

Today, on every Independence Day we have fireworks show which is spectacular and we all love it. We do barbeques and celebrate with snow spray which is cool.

I wonder what you think about Israel... well... first we don't live in a desert as you might think. Second, we don't have a huge war or something. We have something similar – some terror organizations are shooting rockets [small ones] in the areas around Gaza the people here are very afraid, but we, the residents of the center of Israel try to help them the most we can- we send donations to them and even some of us host them in our houses just to keep them safe.

In the 14.5.1948 Israel is established.
This year at the 14.5 Israel celebrate hers 60th birthday.
In this year the central theme is Israeli kids. A committee is planning big parties and shows all the country in this theme.                                                                                
This year it is planned to start big projects such as:  building 60 kindergartens, connecting Jews from all over the world to different activities, such as hikes, riding on bicycles, projects using photography of Israeli kids and more interesting projects. There is a big competition to choose the symbol and the slogan of this event.
