Hillcrest Elementary School

Ellsworth, Wisconsin is a town of 3000 located 50 miles east of the “Twin Cities” of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota.  The county seat of Pierce County, Ellsworth is in the center of a dairy farming area.  The town is knows as the “cheese curd” capital of Wisconsin.

Hillcrest elementary is one of four elementary schools in the Ellsworth district.  Hillcrest is the only elementary school in the town of Ellsworth.

The school is 45 years old and for most of that time served grades K-6.  Space problems at Hillcrest as well as the construction of a new middle school resulted in the 6th grade students leaving Hillcrest in 1996.  This fall, Hillcrest fifth grade students also switched to the Middle School.  Hillcrest students and staff are proud of their school.
