Winnipeg, Canada

We live in a great country called Canada. It is a free country and is just north of the United States of America. Our school is located in the city of Winnipeg, in the province of Manitoba.

Winnipeg is in fact found in the geographic centre of Canada and is a wonderful place to live. It is well known for its sports teams - Winnipeg Blue Bombers (football), Winnipeg Goldeyes (Baseball), and Manitoba Moose (hockey) - as well as its parks, and various arts groups.

Winnipeg has a population of 650,100 people and is growing steadily. Some people think that Winnipeg is a very cold city, but that is not really true. Our winters may be cold, but our summers are very hot and dry. Special places to visit in Winnipeg are The Forks,

as well as Birds Hill Park, the Winnipeg Zoo, and the MTS Centre (new hockey arena). One interesting fact about Winnipeg is that our city inspired the creation of the famous Winnie-The-Pooh now found in Disney story books and movies.

Our city is a really great place to live.
