Ironi Zain– A Different Academic High School

Ironi Zain High School consists of 600 students. The school has 29 classrooms. It is the only Jewish high school in Jaffa. These students come from four elementary schools in Jaffa.

Ironi Z. is an interesting mixture of children from different nations practicing different religion: Jews – 80%, others – 20% (Arabs Christians, Arabs Moslems, and Vietnamese).

The school has initiated an experimental project which involves the 7th grade. This educational project is called "The Catom Class". The word "Catom" in Hebrew stands for computer, pupil and a teacher. This educational project faces the future - each student and each teacher will have a laptop.

The purpose of this project is to create a computerized environment, in which all lessons will be computerized and monitored by the teachers in the classroom. In addition the students will submit their homework and other home assignments through the internet.
