Our School and Day of environment

      

We are in Demir Kapija, Macedonia.  A picture
of our town and interesting rock formation and Gorge is
also included.

Demir Kapija is Turkish for the iron gate.  This gorge was
the only passable way from the Agean sea to the north into
the Balkin mountains before the railway.  In ancient
times, it was the gateway into Pionia from Greece.  It was
also stratigical point from which people could see an army
coming across the valley.
