Olives in Israel

The olive tree is green forever. It’s thick and hard. The color of the leaves is green-gray and the trunk is textured. The olive was civilized 6000 years ago.

There are 3 kinds of olives in Israel. One of them is the Pikoal. It comes from Spain and we make from it oil.

The olives are important to the people in the world. There is vitamin A, iron, calcium and fat. The olives are good for problems in the liver, sickness in the gall and diabetes. Good for blood vessels and disturbances in the heart. Olive oil that is not refined lowers the cholesterol. There are 130 calories for 100 gram.

To make olives oil, we do the olive harvest - we take the olives from the tree. Then we take it to the olive press and squeeze the olives. After that, we separate the oil and the water. And in the end, we pour the oil to bottles and we have olive oil.  

There are many factories that make olive oil. There are Katit, Yad Mordechay, Ets Hazait and more...
