Class 3-203 says shalom. We are learning about Israel, and read your e-mail
about Ein Ganim. We found out that we have a lot of things in common and some
things are different.
PS 89 is located in Elmhurst, Queens. Queens is one of the 5 boroughs that
make up the City of New York. Elmhurst is in an urban community and is mostly
residential. The community is very old, our school is 100 years old.
We travel to school by bus like you. Some of us also walk to school or our
parents drive us by car. Our school has a playground, but it is currently under
construction. Our gym is in the same building that we have our classes in and
our class goes there once a week.
We go to school from September to June and our
day starts at 8:20 AM to 3:17 PM.
Our school is very large compared to yours. We
have over 1,500 students in our school. We have grades Kindergarten to 5th
grade. There are 70 classes and over 100 teachers in one large building.
If you came to visit Elmhurst you could
visit Flushing Meadow Park, which is where the World's Fair was held. You could
also see a baseball game at Shea Stadium or see the Tennis US Open at Arthur
Ashe Tennis Stadium. Your visit would not be complete without a visit to the
Queens Art Museum and the Hall of Science.
We are very anxious to learn about
Israel and become friends with you.
Please visit our blog and answer some of our questions.
