The Tokyo Peace Memorial
I went to Tokyo this weekend to visit my cousin and his
family.
I went to Ueno Park, a famous park in Tokyo and I came across this
peace monument/statue/memorial and thought of you and your site and your
kids.. Maybe you would like to show it to them. Tokyo was nearly obliterated
during the raids of WWII and this is a memorial to
remember. The cranes represent peace in Japan and 1000 of them are the
ultimate wish for peace. Students often make chains like this of
origami cranes for good luck as well.
Enjoy the photos!
